280

So, Some of you have seen the points tally over on the right column there somewhere. And some of you have complained about some people perhaps not having points on there who deserve to have points. Well...that might be true. But i'm running this show, so I'll run it like I want to. And I didn't make it very convenient to edit. But I will update it sometime. And if you have points that need to be credited, email me and let me know who gave them to (or who you're giving them to) and why, and eventually I'll probably put them up.

So, I'm in Sydney again. Someone just asked me if I was here to get engaged. I unfortunately had to say no. But that's only because it is still a secret. Oh, wait....

So anyway, it's cool being here, staying at my sister's place, with her 2 month old girl Adelaide (Lady). And we visited my brother and his week old boy Blaise the other day, and might be over there again today. Havn't been up to much other than family stuff though. There was a YSA fireside on Sunday night, but I didn't really meet anyone i hadn't met last time i was here. Ok, that's not entirey true, I met a couple of people. It was a good fireside.

Lady is really cute.

Oh, if anyone tells you that I nearly killed people on the way home from the dance at Craigmore last week, it isn't true. I'm a safe driver, and everyone was always completely safe. I wasn't even tried. I'll tell you what though, I was the next day. After I got home from the dance at about 1:00 I checked my email (the computer was still on...). I had a message from a former missionary friend, and one of my companions is engaged! He must only have been home for a couple of weeks. But his girlfriend was really cool, so that's pretty exciting for them! Anyway, back to my story about me, I then had to pack my bag to go to Sydney. I probably finally finished that by 2:30 or so, and went to bed. Then I had to leave for the airport at 6:00. I took my laptop in the plane, just incase i wanted to get some stuff done (not my mouse though - no radio comunications stuff in planes). But instead I just slept. Or tried to.

So anyway, I was tired, but now I'm all good.

Anyway, I'm done. This is Dallin Howes, reporting from Sydney!

PS. Oh, 74 points to whoever can guess what 280 is for. 12 points to anyone who comes up with a good creative guess answer thing.

Wow I'm not going to even guess something. OK maybe just one..

280 is a erally awesome cool number and you just felt like writing it.

So anyway! You did my thing! lol. You wrote 'back to my story about me'. Lol! That's so what I do except it's more like 'Back to me'. Hehe and I usually end up saying that while we're all talking about me anyway =P I'm so vain sometimes.. Who isn't though..?

I'm glad that you are having fun and I'm especially glad that Lady is awesome and so very cute. One day my nephew might go on his mission to Sydney and meet your little Lady and then they can get married and we can be related distantly-ish. That'd be soo much fun!

I like pie..

Have fun for the rest of your holiday cause it's not so much fun in Adelaide. I need to find a fondu thingy so we can have a cheese party. i'll get on it right away! Who should we invite?? Humm

Bye Dals!! Don't forget us all in silly old Adelaide!

Ok, 12 points to Sophie for the second response - asking 280 girls to dance. I wish it were true!

Twelve points to Dave for Gino in the Toll Fast fleet. That was a very clever interpretation.

And I guess Tam gets 12 points for trying. And coz she wants to have a fondue night. Anyone have a spare (chesse) fondue pot available?

2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

Adelaide is fun. I'm looking wforward to being back. But I'm enjoying SYdney while I'm here!

Yay a new blog! Sophie was the one that told me you almost killed people! But I still believe you are Superman when you take your glasses off, so I knew you'd be able to save them if things got bad. You are 'faster than a speeding bullit' of course!

Did you know that I am exclamation happy, and did you further know that you owe me 10 points!

280 is how old the person is that asked for your hand in matrimony.

280 is the number of your sisters house

280 mins is how long you have to live

280 actually means $2.80, which you spent on pie

Guess what, I like pie too. Timmy you're cool, add me to your msn!

Caro - if you're referring to this then I believe I only owe you 5 (which I had indeed forgotten about...as well as Tam's 10, which are all now added). But if I owe you other points, you'll have to let me know where they were awarded, so I can add them.

You get 12 points for this response here too, but I'm not sure for which response. Just for trying I guess...

Oh! and new guesses!

280 is the adverage of how many times you fall over every day.

280 really means '2AD' which is when a new star appeared...

There are 280 Tuesdays in a year!

Hey, if no one gets it right, are you gonna tell us what it really was? Are you telling people if its close? ( " )

Okiday! I'm done again!

There are 280 plane trees with ten nodes. As a consequence of this, 18 people around a round table can shake hands with each other in non-crossing ways, in 280 different ways (this includes rotations).

100011000 CCLXXX 118

It is a Harshad number.

ooh... but it could be Rosie's... waiting to be pretty.

Rose: I think you mean 16.whatever is the square root of 280But you get your 12 points for the Microsoft fine one. Well done for knowing about that!

Sophie: Way to plagarise Wikipedia. Although, I don't know if that really counts as plagarism, since I think Wikipedia is GPL. but, you did pass it off as your own work....Anyway, you can only get one set of points in this here competition. Sorry. But, well done if you actually knowwhat all that Wikipedia stuff means.

And Caro (I presume) was right that I'm not going to ever tell anyone what 280 means. I almost forgot myself, until I thought about it for 2 seconds.

Oh yes, that was me.

See everyone, I told you he was mean! And yet, I can't seem to hate him for it.

Must be all that charm...

At 12:35 PM, July 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's not the charm that makes us not hate him.. It's his arm. The left one to be more specific. I have the same thing. People can't hate me and it's all because of my left foot.

I think it's the left that gets everyone. No one really likes the right one. It's usually just the left. Poor right things..

At 1:17 PM, July 21, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

But... but... I don't have a left foot! Is that why everyone hates me? Dang it! and all this time I thought it was because of the moon...

First one to say what I have instead of a left foot gets 15 points! wait... was it left or right?

At 11:54 PM, July 21, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Im guessing Soph has a right foot or was that left. Newayz Im bord 280 was a good number until now.... what was it newayz Dallin?

Tooter-Wooter!

Oh, nice work on shortening the 'charm' to 'arm' Tam. But, you should have taken off one more letter. It's the 'RM' that means none of you can hate me! Oh, wait, no that was just someone's dad! Haha, I think I'm funny!

Anyway, 280 is still a good number Dave. I just can't tell you why.

Dallin got it wrong... he spelt it the way Rose does... WRONG! You gotta spell it how it sounds, all occa and stuff. (shhh... I don't know what I'm talking about...) hehehe... woosh.
